Cardiovascular exercises are a great way to lose weight and to improve your general fitness. They?re also so easy and convenient to do and can fit around your life, whatever your schedule! So here are five top cardiovascular exercises everyone should try:
Running
Running is great for your heart rate and has a wealth of cardiovascular benefits! For a start running regularly improves circulation around the body, therefore reducing the risk of heart problems such as high blood pressure, risk of a stroke or a heart attack. It is also so easy to do because all you need is a pair of trainers and some old clothes and somewhere to run (a road, treadmill, track etc)

Cycling
Cycling is another fantastic option, whether it?s indoor gym equipment or outside mountain biking. During a 30 minute cycling session a person can burn 250-500 calories; which makes it great for those who are looking to lose a few pounds. With cycling you can alter your speed and resistance to your heart?s content, to produce the results you want and to isolate the areas you want to improve.
Swimming
What?s great about swimming is that it?s a full work out for your whole body (pretty much every major muscle group is used during swimming)! Another reason swimming makes it onto this list is that it is able to be done by anyone on the fitness scale, because it?s not the most physically demanding form of exercise and there is no pressure on the body. Which is why it can be enjoyed by anyone who suffers health problems such as chronic injuries and disabilities that prevent them from doing other forms of exercise!
Step Aerobics
Step aerobics is popular amongst women as it targets the glutes, hips and legs and can burn around 400 calories per session! For those that don?t know step aerobics is where you step up and down in a choreographed sequence on a platform to music. It improves flexibility and balance as well as increasing general cardio fitness levels.
Rowing
Rowing is a cardio work out whilst simultaneously providing a stern work out for the arms. That?s probably why it is so common to see men on these machines at the gym (that?s not to say women can?t use them). Half an hour on a rowing machine burns roughly around three hundred calories so it is not for the faint-hearted.
