The root words of the name of the state of Oklahoma are derived from the Native American Choctaw tribe?s words for ?red people.? And when it comes to politics, Oklahoma is also a very red state and polls show that Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney will likely carry the Sooner State in November. With her state likely in the bag, Oklahoma?s governor Mary Fallin has been actively campaigning outside of the Sooner State to try and reach voters in swing states.. This week finds her in Charlotte, North Carolina, stumping for her party in a state that Obama won by a very slim margin in 2008.
