Required Qualifications: Bachelor?s Degree. Minimum of three years of full time search and selection experience. Proficient in all Microsoft Applications (i.e. Excel, Word, etc.). Experience conducting presentations, workshops and/or training.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree, preferably in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, Business Management/Administration. HR related experience in a higher education, medical setting or not-for-profit organization. Previous experience in a recruitment unit and/or department. Experience utilizing applicant tracking systems. Experience with PeopleSoft. Experience using social media for recruitment purposes. PHR, SPHR.

Brief Description of Duties: The Recruitment and Employment Services Coordinator will be a team oriented individual with excellent organizational skills. S/he will be responsible for supporting the full range of Recruitment and Employment Services activities to include: search and selection (i.e. training, consultation, strategic recruitment planning, etc.), Job Opportunities (JOBS), coordination and implementation of job fairs, and diversity outreach. The incumbent will also be engaged in the implementation and expansion/enhancement of new and existing university-wide initiatives including but not limited to: Human Resources internship program, exit interview program, pre-employment process, as well as the utilization of web for dissemination of information. Data collection, management, analysis, and reporting are integral to this position.

Outreach Initiatives:

  • Develop, implement and promote traineeship program as well as new outreach initiatives.
  • Promote Human Resources Internship/Traineeship program and attend Job Fairs to promote job opportunities at Stony Brook University.
  • May meet with candidates applying to the University as well as referrals.
  • Will work creatively with departments to help them fill staffing needs.
Training/Education:
  • Provide consultation and training to departments in regards to the Search and Selection process, appointment procedures, Stony Brook Jobs and subscription services.
  • Develop knowledge of departmental hiring needs and assist departments in filling positions.
  • Work with departments/VP coordinators to help ensure compliance with AA/EEO regulations, employment laws, and adherence to University and SUNY policies and procedures.
Applicant Tracking System (ATS):
  • Will work with electronic databases as we move to online applicant tracking and position development.
  • Will participate in implementation of an applicant tracking system.
  • Assist in the training of users (i.e. departments, job seekers, etc.).
  • Promote current database usage, on-line resume, etc.
  • Utilize job boards and Higher Education Recruiting Consortium (HERC) to disseminate campus employment opportunities.
  • Candidate sourcing: will screen applicants for hiring departments, as well as source candidates in the ATS.
SB Jobs (Campus Job Opportunities):
  • Responsible for providing the necessary support for SB Jobs, which may include inputting, editing, proof reading, updating, processing advertisements, and other related preparation, maintenance and dissemination of SB Jobs in its various forms.
  • May recommend enhancements to SB Jobs.
  • Work within ATS to screen resumes for dissemination to departments.
  • Review resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience and knowledge in relation to position requirements.
Exit Process:
  • As needed, will process, communicate and conduct interviews associated with the Exit Interview separation process as assigned.
  • Track exit surveys and provide annual statistical analysis.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
Special Notes: This is a full time position. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Some nights and weekends may be required. Travel will be required to community outreach, job fairs, etc.
